I’m thinking, based on my experience, old adage of “the more things change the more things stay the same.” needs a revision. It should read something like “the more things change, the moral or social tenets one used to abide by means nothing.”
I never paraded around my parents or grandparents in my underwear. No one did. Not even my uncles, that I remember it. Sure, as a toddler or young child, I really had no choice. It was about comfort–or laziness. Who knows. What I’m getting at is sitting at breakfast and walking around the living room in your underwear might be acceptable for some households, but in my family, unless you’re under the age of 5 or inebriated beyond fuckall, you didn’t do it.
Today, it’s a different matter altogether.
“The more things change, the more fuckall.”
